About Me

HeadshotMy name is Todd Miranda. I have more than 25 years of professional experience in the technology industry. I was lucky enough to get a very early start learning how to program computers. In addition to programming, I was also a tinkerer from an early age, taking apart, putting together, and repairing all sorts of electronic devices. This love of electronics and programming led me to get my BSEE and MSEE degrees.

I am the owner of NxtDimension Solutions in Birmingham, Alabama, offering consulting, mentoring, and training services. I am a Certified Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Product Owner and provide Scrum coaching and training as well. I am the co-founder of the Birmingham .NET User Group and stay active in the technical community. I am a speaker and presenter, having delivered presentations at community user groups, organizations and conferences. I am also a published author. I am honored to have been awarded as a Microsoft MVP for 10 years.

While my day to day work is primarily software development and development process related, I am still a tinkerer and maker! My work and my hobbies all allow me to express my creativity and allow me to “make” things. I am an engineer, a professional magician, a woodworker, a cake decorator, an effects makeup artist, an AFOL (adult fan of LEGO), among other hobbies. I am still a big kid. My toys are software languages and tools.

The Code in the Hat is my sandbox. It is my place to share my toys, the things I enjoy, with others. In all the years that I have been developing software, mentoring and managing teams, putting processes into practice, and delivering products, I have learned a great deal. Some things I have learned through successes. Others I have learned through failure and mistakes. I continue to learn new things and refine my existing knowledge. On the pages of this blog, I’ll share my experience and a lot of the new things I continue to learn.

You’re off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So… get on your way!
